The „Romania Wants to Meet You – Young Professionals Programme” has reached a significant milestone: five months since its official launch on April 7, 2025, the initiative is already showing measurable results in connecting talented Romanians abroad with career opportunities back home.
Key achievements so far
The programme started with 10 employers listed on its career platform www.credinromania.ro/cariere. Today, it features 18 confirmed employer partners, including E-Infra, Oracle, Accenture, Deloitte RADC, CEC Bank, Holcim, Tarom, Poșta Română, and Veeam.
Currently, there are 82 unique job positions and over 180 vacancies available. So far, the programme has received 120 applications, and proudly facilitated the repatriation of two highly skilled young professionals from the United States.
Visibility and global outreach
The programme has benefited from over 40 media appearances (TVR, RFI, Radio România Internațional, Revista Biz, Economistul, Agerpres, etc.), as well as dissemination through Repatriot, LSRS, HR Club, Ziarul Pozitiv, Romanian United Foundation and the Harriet Martineau Foundation.
Romanian embassies, consulates, and cultural institutes across Europe and beyond have also been instrumental in promoting the initiative, together with the Romanian Orthodox Church and various diaspora associations. More than 400 social media mentions have been generated by influencers and community groups worldwide.
Financial support and sponsorship
The programme currently counts four financial sponsors: E-Infra (Gold), Garanti BBVA (Silver), Noark Electric (Silver), and Macromex (Bronze). The Platinum sponsorship level remains open.
To date, €34,666 have been secured, with an additional €1,834 pending. In-kind support has also been significant: Propaganda Creative Marketing provided a full communication strategy and promotional materials worth an estimated €50,000.
Next steps
Responding to feedback, the eligibility criteria have been adjusted: the age limit was raised to 35 years, while the minimum period of living abroad was reduced to 3 years.
Between August and October 2025, the programme will focus on:
- a targeted digital campaign using micro-influencers;
- a LinkedIn campaign addressing thousands of Romanians abroad;
- technical improvements to the online platform;
- outreach to 600 Romanian diaspora organizations;
- strategic billboard campaigns in Romania and abroad.
With a target of 100 repatriations by the end of 2026, the Young Professionals Programme is shaping up as a strategic bridge between Romania’s private sector, public institutions, and its global talent pool.
